Michelle Soskin Consultant Anaesthetist |
|
After leaving North London Collegiate School, I attended Medical School in Manchester where I graduated with Honours. I moved to Sheffield to start my anaesthetic training but the draw of London was too strong and I came back to do a job in Cardiac Intensive Care at Great Ormond Street, then worked at the Middlesex and Royal Free Hospitals. I commenced my Consultant post at Watford General Hospital in 1997.
My title is Consultant Anaesthetist but my work is varied including children’s surgery, providing pain relief to women in labour, resuscitation in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care. A ‘normal’ day can include teaching medical students, running a list of operations and having a discussion with a family about withdrawing life support for a loved one.
I am married to a wonderful man who is not a doctor! We have two lovely children age 10 and 12 and my interests include gardening, baking cakes and visiting art galleries.
