Dr Sam Hartley
Clinical psychologist at Bradford District Care Trust

Sam is a clinical psychologist and hold both an academic and clinical doctorate. She is currently based at Bradford District Care Trust, working in the CAMHS crisis, enhanced treatment and eating disorder teams. Previously, she worked with at the Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in their inpatient CAMHS units, Hope and Horizon.

From 2018 to 2021, Sam held a HEE/NIHR Integrated Clinical Academic Clinical Lectureship with Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust and The University of Manchester, investigating therapeutic relationships in CAMHS. She is Associate Editor of Psychology and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research and Practice. Sam qualified as a Cognitive Analytic Therapy Practitioner in 2021. She regularly shares her research work and clinical experience in publications, conferences, and in teaching and training mental health professionals of various disciplines.

Sam is passionate about young people’s and family members’ involvement in the development of service and previously facilitated a young people and carers’ council, Moving Forward.
