Rob studied medicine at the University of Sheffield and then went on to pursue dual training in Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine in the Yorkshire deanery, completing the FFICM and FRCEM as part of this. 

He is passionate about optimising training opportunities and encouraging the development of trainees and their interests. During training he sat on the Yorkshire training committee as a trainee rep for Intensive Care medicine and plays a very active role in postgraduate teaching. 

Outside of work, having hung up his rugby boots he now is a keen triathlete and outdoor enthusiast with his biggest achievement being completing Ironman UK in 2016.
