Dr Liao works part-time as a consultant clinical psychologist. She is the professional lead for Women’s Health Psychological Services and chairs the UCH Adult Psychology Leadership Team.
Currently she provides weekly perinatal psychology clinics as part of the broader Perinatal Mental Health Service. On the gynaecology side, she provides a range of psychological interventions for adolescent and adult women with congenital pelvic anomalies. Recently she has begun to work with obstetricians, gynaecologists, midwives and advocacy groups to develop brief psychological interventions that target emotional and sexual difficulties related to FGM. She supervises colleagues on the psychosocial aspects of their research and collaborates with her teams and external academic institutions on a number of projects. She is co-/author of over a hundred publications including care guidances. |
