Amanda Thomas
Consultant Community Paediatrician

Amanda Thomas (now retired) was a Consultant Community Paediatrician at NHS Leeds Community Healthcare.

She has special interest in Child Protection and in particular Sexual Abuse and Sexually Transmitted Infections in Children. She is also interested in Medical Management and children affected by maternal substance misuse. She is a co-author of a number of guidelines relating to child protection and sexually transmitted infections in children.

She was a member of the Project Board in 2008 and 2015 writing the ‘Physical Signs of Child Sexual Abuse; An evidence-based review and guidance for best practice’, a member of the RCPCH Child Protection Standing Committee, and the Adolescent Special Interest Group of BASHH.
