Giles Armstrong is a consultant paediatrician at The Whittington Hospital in London. He is the lead for Paediatric Emergency Medicine and leads on children’s safeguarding within the Emergency Department.
Dr Armstrong trained in Paediatrics and Paediatric Emergency Medicine in London and Sydney. Since gaining his CCT he has worked as a consultant at the Royal London Hospital, Lewisham Hospital and The Whittington hospital. While working at Lewisham Hospital he was seconded to review the trust’s safeguarding procedures. He subsequently worked as the clinical lead in safeguarding at Lewisham Hospital. During this time he was selected to be a member of NHS London’s Safeguarding Improvement Team (SIT), which provides independent review and recommendations for London’s PCTs of their safeguarding procedures.
