Recently retired following 30 years’ experience of working in the ambulance service, David held a number of senior appointments in the London Ambulance Service, including Head of Paramedic Training.
His wide-ranging operational experience sadly covered many terrorist incidents, rail disasters, major fires and civil disturbances. However, he was also involved with significant developments in the ambulance profession including chairing the professional body group that produced the first Curriculum Framework for the Ambulance Profession, from initial recruitment right through to paramedic consultant.
David is a Health Professions Council Partner fulfilling the duties of Registrant Assessor, Visitor and Fitness to Practice; a Faculty Board Member of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh, and a member of the Department of Health Care Pathways Working Group for the End of Life Care Programme.
David is active in mountain rescue. He was a member of the Dartmoor Rescue Group, and since a family move to Staffordshire, is now a member of the Derby Mountain Rescue Team covering parts of the Peak District National Park. |
