Ruth Bradley

Ruth is Director of Care at St Joseph’s Hospice, Hackney. The hospice serves a local community from diverse cultural backgrounds, with malignant and non malignant conditions.
Ruth has spent most of her career in cancer nursing in clinical and acute trust leadership roles. In her most recent role as Lead Cancer Nurse she was responsible for cancer nursing and related service developments, in particular those improving the patient and carer experience and the cancer peer review programme. Her particular interests are in clinical and organisational development. As part of her Msc she conducted research on the ward sister/charge nurse’s experience of ward management and leadership.
Ruth has been involved in cancer and palliative patient care developments at a local and national level, including an advocacy and community liaison service for Bengali speaking cancer patients and a pilot project with the National Cancer Improvement Team,Department of Health,‘Improving the cancer patient experience’ programme developing a pathway for cancer patients presenting to the hospital Accident and Emergency department.
