Anne Lancaster
Radiographer, Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust

Anne trained as a radiographer at the University of Bradford, qualifying in 1996. After qualifying she moved south, working in Oxford and Stoke Mandeville, before applying to work in Australia. Anne worked in a busy trauma hospital in Canberra for a year before taking a six-month break to travel.

Back in the UK Anne worked in several hospitals in locum posts, before opting to relocate to West Yorkshire. After only a few months working at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust, she commenced the reporting course, completing it in 2005.

Since completing the course, the scope of the reporting at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust has increased to include all musculoskeletal plain film referrals including GP examinations.

Anne was recently awarded an MSc in Medical Imaging. Her dissertation investigated radiographer attitudes to radiographer commenting, a subject she is passionate about. Anne hopes that her involvement in this project will equip radiographers and the rest of the multi-professional team with the skills they need to interpret images and therefore enhance patient care.
