Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist, Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital

Neil has been a Consultant Paediatric Otolaryngologist since 2004 and has worked at RMCH since 2015. He has a specialist interest in airway surgery including laryngeal reconstruction, head and neck surgery, including salivary gland surgery, and reconstruction of the external ear.

He has a particular interest in intracapsular coblation tonsillectomy techniques, having introduced the technique to RMCH, and for the last 6 years has chaired the national ENT coblation training courses.

He has ongoing interests in tracheostomy care, being a founder member of the Global Tracheostomy Collaborative and a member of the National Tracheostomy Safety Programme Paediatric Working Group and simulation training, as Co-Director of the Paediatric ENT Skills Course for Consultants.

He is a previous Hon Secretary of the British Association for Paediatric Otolaryngology and has also sat on the council of that organisation. He is currently the Clinical Director for Surgery at RMCH.

Neil is a content author for the National Tracheostomy Safety Project.
