John McShane
Critical Care Outreach Practitioner and Team Leader in Respiratory Physiotherapy

John graduated as a Physiotherapist from Brunel University and he progressed to specialising in the fields of Critical Care and Respiratory medicine.

He currently works at Surrey and Sussex Healthcare (SASH) NHS Trust in a dual role. Part of his week is spent working as a Critical Care Outreach Practitioner and the other part in spent working as a Team Leader in Respiratory Physiotherapy.

John has keen interests in ventilation weaning, care of the tracheostomy patient, clinical simulation and Non-invasive ventilation.

In 2014 he completed a Masters in Critical Care from Cardiff University, which supports his ongoing work within Critical Care Outreach. It is within this team that he and his colleagues run the acute NIV service for the Trust.
