Deborah Dykes
Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist

Deborah has been working in Chichester as a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist in respiratory for the last 10 years.

Deborah’s key interests include early physiotherapist intervention when managing patients with respiratory failure, and rehabilitation for patients during and post critical illness.

Since 2010, she has been part of a group of allied health professionals from across the South East Coast who work in critical care. The aim of this group being optimising patient care, benchmarking practice, and improving standards of care.

Other professional interests include education and training, and she is currently in the process of doing research into simulation based education in physiotherapy as part of her MSc in Education and Physiotherapy.

Deborah is also working with colleagues in the hospital outreach team to develop interior professional simulation based learning scenarios focuses on managing patients who are at risk of, or who are already deteriorating.

It is anticipated that such scenarios can be used within the hospital to support education of staff in the management of patients requiring non-invasive ventilation.
