Catherine is a consultant paediatrician in Hampshire working with children and young people with developmental difficulties and neurodisability.
She provides medical care for children and young people with problems including cerebral palsy, learning disability, developmental delays, autistic spectrum disorders and epilepsy, and is also a member of the local paediatric team which carries out medicals on children referred with concerns about child abuse.
She has a particular interest in adolescents and in social participation, and was a founder member of the Young People’s Health Special Interest Group of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
In 2012, she was awarded a PhD from the University of Newcastle for developing a questionnaire to measure how frequently disabled adolescents participate in activities in all areas of life.
She has published papers on the subject including a review paper in Archives of Disease in Childhood, the leading UK journal on child health. |
